Freaky fish! Ran across these photos from summer of '21. It was caught muskie fishing by Kyle Sorenson... we weren't too impressed initially but then became intrigued.
A pike with a built-in straw! Hadn't really seen anything like it prior or since.
The Walking Boss had been whispering that it would be a good idea to add a buddy to the topwater lineup at Livingston... he's performed well, but not the jealous type.
Surface time getting closer and BigMakk be here soon too.
Don't bring the phone! Too many things to do in both spring and fall. Mid afternoon decided gotta take a few casts; took 20 minutes to find a few, caught three... damn phone rang and next thing you know I was on an emergency rototiller duty. A little sluggish they were, but hit on loong pauses.
Big fun at the Recon Boats event today! Always cool to hang around anglers. Great folks and questions after seminar; got to see many haven't seen in a while and a pleasure to meet several for the first time. Signed some vintage lures and saw a vintage hat.
Was a bit chilly for Recon ride but many toughed it out.
Thanks to Lakeside Marina, Recon and Gillespie crew.

Can’t say I have. Super interesting tho
Yes! Caught this Muskie in Ohio in 2022! 8-9 months later it was caught again about 4 miles east of original location. Seemed healthy both times.
It was once on a rope style stringer and released with a nasty hole

Be looking forward to a little toothless action with Tex soon... we have a few turkeys to chase first - and they're toothless too!
Anyone been getting on em?

Not yet 3rd season... I never missed the opener when I fished the Chip... but times change. I should get back up there and fish again.
Found em up in the wood last week. The males didn't have their tuxedos on yet. The wife got this nice 11 inch silver.
Looking for crappies off dock today. Bass nope, our day! Was crazy.

Just curious how long were those pauses? Cause I’ve heard you talk about some loooooong pauses early season.
